Satyawati College is a university college in Delhi, India, affiliated to the University of Delhi. Retrieved 12 December 2006.〕 ==History== The college was established in 1972 by the Government of Delhi , while "Evening college" was established in 1973. It is one of the constituent colleges of Delhi University that lies off campus, in Phase-3, Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The College is named after a great freedom fighter, Behen (Sister) Satyawati, grand-daughter of Swami Shraddhanand, who worked in close association with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Jayaprakash Narayan and Sarojini Naidu. She worked tirelessly till her death for uprooting poverty, ignorance and communalism. She was named Toofani Behen (Stormy Sister) by Mahatma Gandhi for her zeal and commitment.
